The port city of Busan, often referred to as the summer capital of South Korea, is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. It's time to book a flight and find out why it's my favorite city in South Korea! It is the only bus ride from Seoul to the capital Seoul, the international airport, which makes it a great stopover on the way to the Korean capital Seoul.
Busan is also easily accessible by plane or car, and high-speed trains run regularly from Busan Station to Seoul. There are good bus connections in South Korea, but the most important is the Gyeongbu line, which connects the port city with the capital Seoul and the other major cities in the country. It is located in the middle of South Korea, only a few hours drive from Seoul and about one and a half hours from the city center.
Line 1 (orange line) goes north, while the Gyeongbu Line (red line), the main line of the city, is connected to the Central Bus Station in the north. It borders to the north and west and is located south - east of the Strait of Korea and north - west of Seoul.
Busan is the only city in Korea that was never captured by the North Korean communists during the Korean War. Busan was one of them, but it was overrun by them in the late 1950 "s and early 1960" s, when the population more than doubled after the Koreans left, owing to the influx of refugees from the East and North.
The city was overpopulated during the Korean War of 1950-53, when it was and became the capital of the Republic of Korea for a time. The city's population swelled with the return of Koreans from overseas after Korean independence in 1945, and refugees from the North doubled the population in the late 1950 "s.
At the beginning of the 15th century, the Korean government designated Busan as a trading port for the Japanese and allowed them to settle there. The settlement, then called Waegwan, lasted until Japan invaded Korea in 1592 and other Japanese settlements in Ulsan and Jinhae later declined. The Japanese settlement continued until it was later moved to Choryang and Korea was subjected to modern diplomacy in 1876, when the Koreans were forced to sign a treaty with Japan in exchange for their independence from the United States of America. This treaty opened Busaan to Japanese trade and immigration, but the role of this port diminished somewhat when Korea invaded Japan later in the century and designated it as its first international port.
The cruise port handles more than 1.5 million passengers per day and over 1.5 million tons of cargo per year. In 2016, the US Navy's USS George H.W. Bush visited South Korea, and in 2017 China banned cruise missiles from South Korean ports, while the US nuclear-armed missile defence system was deployed in North Korea in April 2017.
The port (also called Busan Harbor) is South Korea's largest cargo port in the South Korean city of Busansan. The city now has an international airport and is also home to the second largest cruise port in the world with a capacity of 1.5 million passengers per day and over 4 million tons of cargo per year. In addition to its 4 cruise ports, South Korea also has 4 cargo ports and 2 airports. These countries include the port of Gwangju, the ports of Gyeonggi and Gwangeung and the port of Seongju.
HÄUNDAE (Haeundae) is the most popular beach in Korea and Busan is called the summer capital of Korea because there are six beaches in the city that attract visitors from all over the country.
